Kitchen cabinet services in Petaling Jaya

Petaling Jaya spans older inner neighbourhoods (Section 14, 17, 19) and newer high-rise developments (PJU, Ara Damansara). The kitchen design challenge is the same in both — making a small footprint work like a bigger one. Our planning approach for PJ usually starts with workflow sequencing, not finish selection, because the layout decision is what unlocks the space.

What working with us in Petaling Jaya looks like

  • Workflow-first design approach for compact footprints
  • Active in PJU, Ara Damansara, and inner Section 14-19 terrace areas
  • Familiar with both condo and terrace retrofit access constraints

Common project types in Petaling Jaya

  • Compact condo kitchen refits with workflow re-sequencing
  • PJ terrace built-in storage for under-stair and landing zones
  • Serviced apartment study and TV unit built-ins

PJ compact-kitchen workflow principles

In a PJ compact kitchen, the three work zones — prep, cook, and clean — need to be sequenced within a triangle of 4-6 feet per leg. That sounds simple but it is the constraint that most kitchen refits fail. The most common mistake we see is putting the sink and the cooktop on opposite walls with a full-depth cabinet run between them, which forces the user to walk around the cabinet to get from washing to cooking. Our PJ layouts keep the sink and cooktop on the same run whenever the footprint allows, with prep space between them.

PJ terrace and condo finish trends

PJ finishes tend to be lighter than the KL average — more white, more pale grey, more light woodgrain. The reason is straightforward: PJ compact spaces need every bit of light reflection they can get, and darker finishes absorb it. Hardware is usually mid-range (DTC or Hettich) with soft-close as standard. We are seeing a steady shift toward matte finishes over gloss in PJ, both for the visual softness and the lower fingerprint visibility.

PJ pricing baseline

A typical PJ condo kitchen (single-wall or L-shape, 8-10 linear feet, light finish) lands in the RM 18,000-32,000 all-in range. PJ terrace built-in storage packages (under-stair, landing, master wardrobe) are typically RM 15,000-30,000 combined. These are planning numbers — use them as a sanity check when comparing contractor quotes, not as a fixed price list.

PJ workflow sequencing case study

A recent PJ Section 17 terrace refit illustrates the workflow approach. Original layout had the sink under the window and the cooktop on the return wall, 9 feet apart with a full-depth cabinet run between them. Walking from wash to cook required stepping around the cabinet every time. The new layout moved the cooktop to a peninsula facing the dining area, with the sink staying under the window and prep space between them on the same run. Result: the household cuts about 8-10 minutes off every cooking session, and the peninsula gives the kids a place to do homework while dinner is being prepared. Same footprint, same appliance count, completely different kitchen experience.
